Who I Work Best With
I work best with people who recognize themselves in some of this:
-
You're carrying burnout that rest hasn't touched, and weekends don't fix it anymore.
-
You look fine on paper but feel guarded, on edge, or shut down underneath.
-
You've lost the thread of who you are beneath the pressure and expectations.
-
An inner critic, a people-pleaser, or a part of you that stays constantly busy is running the show.
-
Old experiences still show up as anxiety, panic, or numbness — and talk therapy alone hasn't moved them.
-
You're in an in-between season: the old version of you doesn't fit, and the next one isn't clear yet.
MY APPROACH
I care about giving people real room to slow down — to name what's weighing on them, and start finding their way back to themselves, at their own pace. Therapy shouldn't feel like being pushed to just push through.
Much of my work draws on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Our relationships and the patterns we fall into — pulling away, shutting down, chasing reassurance — usually make sense once we understand the emotions underneath them. When we can name what's really going on, those patterns start to loosen.
I also draw on Internal Family Systems (IFS) parts work. You aren't just one fixed version of yourself; you have different parts shaped by what you've lived through: the inner critic, the part that stays busy so it doesn't have to feel, the part that can't say no. Getting curious about them, instead of fighting them, is often where things start to shift.

What Sessions Look Like
Sessions are 50 minutes, weekly or biweekly, online across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, or in-person in NW Calgary. The first session is unhurried: we talk about what brought you in, what you've already tried, and what you'd like to be different. From there, the work is collaborative — we figure out what's helpful and adjust as we go. You won't be handed a script or a worksheet stack. Expect to leave most sessions with a clearer sense of what's actually going on inside, and a small, doable next step.
