Graham Wills, MA
Pathfinder Clinician · Registered Provisional Psychologist
I work with adults, teens, children, couples and families — anxiety, trauma, depression, neurodevelopmental difference, substance use, and the emotional patterns that outlast whatever created them. Twenty-plus years in the work, and a direction you can see coming.
$235 per 60-minute session · In-person in NW Calgary · Online across Alberta · Free 15-minute consult
Psychology services are covered by most extended health plans in Alberta, including Sun Life, Canada Life, Manulife, Blue Cross, GreenShield, Equitable Life, Desjardins, and others. Many plans hold a separate allowance for psychology, so your psychology coverage may be larger than your counselling coverage. We help you confirm before your first session.

Who I Work Best With
I work well with people who recognize themselves in some of this:
-
You have been managing something for years and you would rather understand it than keep managing it.
-
Anxiety, low mood, or anger that arrives faster than your thinking does.
-
Trauma that talk therapy hasn't reached, and you're open to EMDR.
-
A new or long-suspected ADHD or autism diagnosis, and you're working out what it changes.
-
You and your partner keep having the same argument in different words.
-
You're a parent or caregiver holding more than you can name for someone who needs a lot.
MY APPROACH
Twenty years of this work — in community programs, in clinical supervision, and in private practice — has made me suspicious of one-size-fits-all therapy. What actually helps is a clear read of what is happening, an approach chosen to fit it, and a willingness to change course when the evidence says to.
I work from CBT when thought patterns are doing the damage, EMDR when memory is held in the body rather than in language, DBT-informed skills when emotion moves faster than choice, the Gottman Method with couples, and attachment-focused and mindfulness practice throughout. Trauma-informed and culturally responsive are not taglines here. They mean we move at a pace your nervous system agrees to, and I do not assume your context.
Much of my career has been spent supervising other clinicians and teaching, including counselling for medical students at the University of Calgary's Cumming School of Medicine. That work keeps me honest. It is hard to hand-wave in front of people trained to ask why.

What Sessions Look Like
Sessions are 60 minutes, weekly or biweekly, in person in NW Calgary or online anywhere in Alberta. The first session is unhurried: what brought you in, what you have already tried, and what you want to be different. By the end of it you should know what we are working on and roughly how we will know it is working. Ninety-minute blocks are available when the work needs the room, and EMDR is scheduled as an extended session. If I am not the right fit, I will say so and help you find who is.

A Note On Fit
Twenty years in, the thing I am most sure about is that fit does more work than technique. The free 15-minute consult exists for exactly that: you get to hear how I think before you commit anything. If I am not the right person for what you are carrying, I will tell you, and I will point you toward someone who is. That is the whole point of a small team.
